happy 4th and a film to watch

I hope everyone enjoyed their 4th. I'd post pics but I didn't take any - maybe next year :) I actually stayed home to get some work done before I head to Canada tomorrow. I did catch some of the fire works from the show at For Vancouver out my window- apparently the largest fireworks display west of the Mississippi? It's 1:30 in the morning and people are still lighting them off. I hope they're done in about 20 minutes!

Tonight, Nightline aired a segment about a boy in Georgia, Darius Weems. Darius has duchenne muscular dystrophy - the same disease that took his brothers life. A couple years ago, Darius and a group of guys embarked on a road trip to Los Angeles in hopes to get Darius's wheelchair "pimped" by MTV's show "Pimp My Ride". The trip was documented and along the way Darius experienced many firsts in his life. The film "Darius Goes West" is gaining recognition and winning awards at film festivals across the country. I encourage you to read more about it and check it out if it's in your area. It's a remarkable story and I'm sure it will make you revisit and appreciate the most simple things in life. I know I'm looking forward to seeing the film as soon as I have the opportunity.
