Seaside Wedding

On Saturday I went to the coast and shot a wedding with Ray Hendricks. Even though it was a weekend I had off, Ray only had to mention that it was on the beach to convince me to go. I guess I'm easy to please because it doesn't get much better for me than a warm sunny day, the ocean, and sand between the toes... So, during the reception there was another wedding taking place nearby and we noticed there wasn't a photographer around. We kept waiting and watching but we still didn't see a photographer - other than the typical point and shoot guests :) As the ceremony began and the bride started walking down the aisle I was thinking somebody really needs to be taking pictures of this!! I mean, an amazing day, an amazing setting, an attractive bride with a freakin' cool dress and no photographer! I started feeling like a bystander that could and should do something, but wasn't! So I just couldn't stand there anymore and watch... I ended up taking a few pics of the ceremony and the kiss. I wanted to try and catch the b&g before they took off to their reception, so I hoped in the back of the line on the promenade where their guests were waiting to talk to them....

As I was waiting, I decided I was just going to give them a card and tell them to contact me if they wanted their pics - I would give them the photos for free. Then I realized I no longer had my normal wedding attire on and had thrown on some comfy shorts and a shirt for the casual reception at the beach. I was thinking, crap, if they didn't see me taking pics, they're going to think I'm some random dude that looks like he's about to go surfing and is now waiting to talk to them like I was one of their guests.... I was getting a few 'who is that guy' looks from a few guests, which I completely understand. When I finally got up to the bride, I just handed her a card and let her know I had some photos of the ceremony if she was interested in them and complimented her on her dress...

So please, if you're the bride or groom from the beach wedding without a photographer, contact me and I'll happily send you your photo's on a disk. :)
