welcome!

Hey there, thanks for dropping by my blog! I'm an international lifestyle photographer based in the Northwest city of Portland shooting weddings, lifestyle, and fashion. This blog is my place to share (most of) the latest happening's in both my personal and professional life. There are some cool links over there ------>, so be sure to check them out and come back often! If you're getting married or just want to check out my online portfolio, you can do so here.

Oh, and please forgive any grammar mistakes or anything you read that just doesn't make sense. I often write in this blog late at night when I should probably be sleeping :)

jamie + Paul: Esession

These two traveled from L.A. to Portland for their engagement shoot and we were able to dodge the rain long enough to get in some fun shots. Not only did we have a great time, they didn't even flinch when we encountered Portland's "local charm"! :)

2007 NYC bridal market

After REVOLUTION, I stayed in NY to shoot the Bridal Market for Ceremony Magazine. It's a completely crazy couple of days as the shows are back to back and they're at different venues so there's little time to eat anything and by the end of the day it's all you can do to make it back to the hotel.

Short is in! Here's just some of the short dresses shown this year:

and a couple non traditional runway shots:

Thanks to Ceremony for taking care of me and as always, good seeing my friends Ray (i think i owe you and your uncle a cab ride) Luke, and Mike.

Alina & AJ: Wedding

A few of my favorites from Alina & AJ's wedding in Portland...

Posted at 11:26 PM

22,000 images, 8 beds, 6 flights, 1 wedding, 1 concert, 1 workshop, 16 fashion shows and no blogging for a month!

It's been so long I'm not even sure where to start :)  I promise I'm not trying to win the wost blogger of the year award but at the current rate it might be a sure thing.  Last night I returned home (to a dead car battery) from nearly a month on the road split between France and New York.  I'll be posting about everything in the next couple of weeks as well as some images from some great weddings and engagement sessions I photographed before I left. If you're wondering (and you're probably not), the lack of blogging is due forgetting to install iblog and not moving the blog folder onto my new computer before I left. For now, I need to sleep but I'll leave with a cool image my buddy Mike Larson took when he stopped to hang out for a bit during REVOLUTION as well as a slideshow Jason Groupp put together from the Photo Expo party at his studio.  Click here to check out the slideshow.

Susan + Alan: The wedding

I get to attend a lot of great weddings. They're all special and unique in their own way so it's hard to say if one was anymore special than the other. While I was in the cab riding back to our hotel, with the NY skyline in background, I couldn't help but think that Susan & Alan had just raised the bar for having a special wedding. The thing is, it wasn't her beautiful gown, the cool location, or fabulous decor that made their wedding standout in my mind. It was simply, the connection that Susan & Alan have for each other - you could see it, and you could feel it.

Thanks again to Colin Michael for flying out from California to shoot this wedding with me.

NY Street shoot

While I was out in NY, Jason Groupp and I got together and shot some fun images in the Meat Packing district. The area kind of reminds me of Portland's Pearl District - just a lot more people!

Courtney + Eric: The Engagement

Recently I got to hangout and photograph Courtney & Eric. We found some old bards and open fields to shoot in before grabbing a bite to eat and heading out for some night shots. Thanks for being so fun guys and see you this weekend!

New York

Late last week I flew out to NYC for a great wedding on Saturday. I just wanted to say thanks to Colin Michael for flying all the way out from California to help me out. Also, I wouldn't have been shooting this wedding if it wasn't for Jason Groupp for referring me - thanks man! I got to stay at this really cool place, the Hudson Hotel for a couple of nights. It can be a little tricky to find (especially if you're from California :)) since there's not a sign or address on the front. It's like an all in one lounge/bar/club/hipster hangout/hotel and the elevator music was so good I bought the hotel soundtrack! Definitely check it out if you're ever looking for a cool place to stay.

Although I love NY, I can't stand the humidity! Only tropical places with beaches should be this humid :) I'm looking forward to coming back next month for REVOLUTION and shooting the NY Bridal Market for Ceremony Magazine when it won't be so humid...

Lisa + Matt: the wedding

I just want to share some fun details and a few of my favorite moments from Lisa & Matt's wedding. From their engagement shoot in L.A., the numerous phone and email conversations, and the times Lisa and her mom came by my studio, I've gotten to know these two pretty well which made photographing their wedding a lot of fun.

There's more on the way but for now you'll enjoy these:

a few details...

candy anyone?

Lisa looked amazing in her Monique Lhuillier dress and I think Matt agreed

Lisa's veil wanted to be carried away with the wind

Big thanks to Jason Groupp who came all the way from NYC and to Oleksandr Havrylyuk for all the help!

I'm flying up to Vancouver in a couple of hours to shoot a wedding with those crazy Canadians, C+L. I'd better go start packing because I don't think the plane will wait for me!
